Members Journey

My visit to Mallawa, a village in Uttar Pradesh, for an art workshop was an incredibly enriching experience. We engaged with the children of a local school, teaching them various art techniques such as block printing and stencil art, which allowed them to explore creativity in new ways. Additionally, we introduced the students to technology, conducting classes on computers and discussing the benefits of AI tools like ChatGPT. As a student of psychology and sociology, this experience was invaluable. It provided me with firsthand insight into the intersection of education, culture, and socioeconomic factors in rural areas. I observed how creativity fosters cognitive development and emotional expression, while also witnessing the impact of limited resources on educational opportunities. This experience deepened my understanding of the social structures that shape access to education and the psychological effects of empowerment through learning, which is essential for both fields of study.

Vishesh Saigal
My name is Vishesh Saigal, and I’m 16 years old, currently in 11th grade. Visiting Mallawa, a small village in Uttar Pradesh, for an art workshop with my brothers was an amazing experience. We connected with local schoolchildren, engaging them in creative activities that allowed their imaginations to shine. It was inspiring to see how they turned art supplies into vibrant expressions of themselves.
We also taught them about technology, focusing on basic computer skills and how AI tools like ChatGPT can help them. Their excitement highlighted the challenges they face with limited resources.
This experience opened my eyes to the importance of giving access to creative and tech resources in underserved communities. Seeing the children's enthusiasm and potential has really shaped my view on how education can create opportunities for a better future
